You get the job because of money and location and you leave the job for reasons having nothing to do with money or location. Maybe better to apply strategic planning practice to the job search in the beginning and take the job for the right reasons.

I think we need to focus less on the pay and more on achieving sustainable work environment. I am currently doing semiannual interviews with the Hospital Medicine Physicians at my hospital. None of them is mentioning salary as the leading motivator. Many of them never the less like doing extra shifts because they have more realistic patient panels.
