WHEN IT COMES to recruiting hospitalists, groups and health systems use a variety of incentives to get the attention of physicians. Tail coverage is the single biggest perk offered, with 57% of hospitalists reporting that they received tail coverage when they took their current job. But employers are also asking hospitalists to commit by signing non-compete agreements; just over half of respondents to our survey said they signed a non-compete when they took their current job. All data are for full-time hospitalists who treat adults from our 2018 survey.
