Advocate Medical Group (AMG) is the leading physician-led medical group in Chicago, employing more than 1,600 providers and 600+ advanced practice providers. Advocate has the largest emergency and level I trauma network in Illinois, providing care at more than 400 sites, including 12 acute-care hospitals and the state’s largest integrated children’s network. The system also operates five level I trauma centers. Advocate trains more than 600 residents and fellows annually across four teaching hospitals. Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Bloomington, a 221-bed Magnet-recognized teaching hospital, was recently named one of the “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare.
Services: Services vary by site, as hospital size ranges from approximately 200 to 700+ beds. Hospitalist responsibilities include primary care coverage, subspecialist consultation, teaching service, observation center coverage, preoperative evaluations and ED unassigned coverage. Each hospital has its own team and site lead physician.
Schedule and coverage: Hospitalists work seven-on/seven-off. Some sites have dedicated nocturnist coverage and APN support.
