WILSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, a 100-bed acute care hospital, has been serving residents in Shelby County and surrounding communities for more than 80 years. The hospital is currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine/family practice physician interested in participating in its hospitalist program. Employed by Wilson Care Inc., hospitalists at Wilson Memorial are supported by 94 employees in Wilson Care Inc.’s 13 locations, as well as by four other providers in the Wilson Memorial Hospital hospitalist program. The high-tech hospital boasts a second-generation PACS system in radiology and uses an EMR in all employed physician offices. The hospital is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.
SERVICES: Hospitalists cover for 60% of the area’s local primary care physicians and are responsible for a five-bed ICU. With an average daily census of 12, hospitalists have referral access to a full complement of surgical and medical specialists.
SCHEDULE AND COVERAGE: Hospitalists typically work a seven-on/ seven-off block schedule, which includes eight hours in-house per day with “pager” on-call the remainder of the day, at least two nights of “pager” call per week, and two nights of 7:00 p.m.7:00 a.m. per week off-call.
COMPENSATION: Wilson Care Inc. offers its hospitalists a competitive salary with additional compensation through the hospitalist incentive program, as well as a signing bonus, relocation allocation and full benefits.
