PRIMEDOC is a 100% physician-owned and managed private-practice hospitalist company that employs 100 hospital-based physicians in acute care hospitals in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Georgia. Each team makes practice-specific decisions. All management functions are streamlined in a dedicated management office. PrimeDoc also manages hospitalists in the long term acute care hospital setting.
SERVICES: Hospitalists provide a variety of services, such as ED unassigned and primary care coverage; subspecialist consultation; ICU and observation center coverage; teaching services; and preoperative evaluations.
SCHEDULE AND COVERAGE: Coverage varies by location. Hospitalists generally work a seven-on/seven-off schedule. They see an average of 18 to 20 patients per day and work about 15 shifts per month.
COMPENSATION: Compensation combines a fixed base salary and an aggressive productivity incentive.
