Apogee Physicians is the largest entirely physician-owned and -operated hospitalist group in the nation. Apogee employs physicians in 30 states and is continuing to grow its coverage of more than 100 facilities. The group stands on the principle that what is best for the patient is best for the practice.
Employment model: Physicians are employed by Apogee and work in one dedicated hospital. Team sizes range from two to 40 physicians. At each site, patient information coordinators work to ensure communication between referring physicians and patients and keep up on administrative tasks such as billing and coding.
Schedule and coverage: Schedules are flexible and are determined by the onsite program director. Most programs offer a block schedule of seven-on/seven-off , with an average of 15 shifts per month.
Compensation: Apogee provides an excellent annual salary, full benefits including CME, malpractice insurance and full physician-led administrative support. Moonlighting and paid travel opportunities are also available.
Group highlights: Hospitalists enjoy organizational stability, a supportive physician-led leadership team and many career growth opportunities. Ongoing training is offered through all-expense-paid CME accredited courses, Apogee University and PD Summit. Apogee’s support system allows physicians to maximize their quality of life both inside and outside the hospital.
