Mercy Medical Group serves four hospitals: Mercy General Hospital, a 419-bed facility; Mercy San Juan Medical Center, a level II trauma center with 370 beds; Mercy Hospital of Folsom, a 106-bed facility; and Methodist Hospital of Sacramento with 171 beds.

Services: Hospitalists within Mercy Medical Group provide primary care and ICU coverage, teaching services, and consultation to more than 30 medical specialties.

Schedule and coverage: Hospitalists are expected to cover 15 shifts per month as a fulltime physician, with shifts consisting of a combination of day, evening and nights.

Compensation: In addition to base compensation, a portion of hospitalist compensation is based on additional bonus incentives. A shareholder option is available after two years of employment.

Group highlights: Mercy Medical Group, a division of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is a large multispecialty group with more than 400 health care providers in the Sacramento region. Areas of excellence include Mercy Neurological Institute, a multidisciplinary Cancer Center, and the Heart & Vascular Institute.
